Mind's Eye Tribe Motion Capture Class

Last weekend I had the best time up in Seattle taking a motion/performance capture class with my awesome friend, TJ Storm co-founder of Mind’s Eye Tribe along with Andi Norris in Los Angeles. We spent nine hours learning how to perform for motion capture that is used in video games and films like Call of Duty and Alita : Battle Angel. Over the day we did pantomime, lip synched to prerecorded dialogue, and created a character as if it would appear in a video game. The random genre TJ choose was epic fantasy and I went straight for Frodo in Lord of the Rings. I had to figure out how he would look in game standing idle, fidgeting because standing still is boring, and attacking. It was fun and it was hard and I cannot wait to do it again! I’ll be headed down to LA as soon as I can to take more classes to learn how to translate my stunt, martial arts, and acting experience over to mocap. This is super exciting and I look forward to making this a bigger part of what I do in the coming months!

That’s me second from the left in the back row. Gotta have your game face on. #FindYourTribe
